After decorating the barns in Rowan County with 90+ highly visible and beautiful quilt squares the Foothills Quilt Trail committee decided to expand their efforts to beautify the county by creating decorative benches. Each bench has a barn quilt square on it as well as a country scene. Some of the scenes represent the barn setting.  

Local artist, Anita Rummage paints the benches. As you can see she and the benches are flat out lovely.  The benches were made by Gladys McDaniel's husband, Charles.
