Notes:
The Formans knew they wanted a patriotic quilt
pattern for their barn and didn't hesitate requesting one, A flag had
already been used on a
quilt square as well as several other red, white, & blue patterns. After
researching for their own quilt pattern, Fort Sumpter was chosen with a
request to make it red, white, and blue.
This was the first quilt square to be installed from at least twenty
quilt squares sponsored by a grant from the Little Foundation to the
Sheltowee Environmental
Education Coalition for the Foohills Quilt Trail.
